Rosalie is 40 years old and mother of 5 children, she is from the host community and lives in OICHA. She is from a family of 10 children (8 girls and 2 boys) of which she is the 9th child. She is a teacher at the MAYANZOLA Primary School and was trained by NRC for 1 month on the TEP course which she has been teaching since the year 2006 – 2007. She takes care of the children of the TEP classes until now. Children in TEP classes are generally between 10 and 13 years old. These children are very willing to learn and appreciate the different subjects developed in the TEPs. After the TEP, the children are integrated into the classes of the formal system in 4th grade; 5th or 6th primary year depending on their performance. The teacher hopes that in the future the TEP classes will be multiplied, in particular to organize levels 1; 2 and 3. Rosalie is very proud of the work she does for the children because some children went to TEP classes when they were 10 to 13 years old and they are now 25 years old (the oldest) and some have become themselves teachers and parents. Some people often come to thank her for the work done and keep in touch with her, which makes her more happy and very proud of her job.
